Here we have a nice young lady, 35 years old from Anthem, Arizona who presented to our Phoenix, Arizona area medical practice with interest in a mommy makeover. She had been thinking about breast augmentation and tummy tuck for 5 years previous to the consultation. She had seen other Arizona plastic surgeons, but never felt comfortable in proceeding with surgery, until she arrived at our plastic surgery center. Our patient had never developed much breast tissue, having an A or B cup most of her life. She wanted to achieve natural looking results and a solid D cup after surgery. At the time of her mommy makeover, she was healthy, 5 feet 4 inches tall, and weighed 125 pounds. She was determined to get silicone implants because she felt these were better than saline. She was also unhappy with the excess skin of her abdomen and stretchmarks left from pregnancy. She wished to balance her appearance by increasing the fullness of her breasts and tightening her tummy with a tummy tuck at the same time as her breast augmentation. I recommended breast augmentation with Mentor’s MemoryGel Cohesive Silicone breast implants placed under the muscles. A 450 cc moderate-plus silicone implant was placed using a crease incision. A tummy tuck was performed using my very low incision technique and the abdominal muscles were tightened. A pain reducing pump was placed and the patient remained overnight at the plastic surgery recovery center for greater comfort. Our patient recovered very nicely after her mommy makeover. She has told me that she is more confident with her appearance and she loves the natural softness of her breasts. She also feel that her tight tummy resembles her figure previous to getting pregnant, but she may look like she is in better shape now because the surgery has helped her to shed a few pounds.
