Forehead lift options in Arizona.
A forehead lift is a plastic surgical procedure used to enhance the appearance of the forehead, frown lines, and to alter the position of the eyebrows. Patients commonly request rejuvenation of the forehead because aging, gravity and exposure can significantly affect the area, creating flabby skin, deep wrinkles, and droopy eyebrows. A forehead lift has three positive effects, including a reduction of lines and wrinkles, a tightening effect on loose skin, and a repositioning of the eyebrows into a more youthful position. A forehead lift is also known as browplasty, browpexy, endoscopic forehead lift or coronal forehead lift. The procedure has many names, which combine descriptive terms, based on the goals or techniques being used.
Incisions for tightening loose skin.
When the forehead tissue falls due to gravity the face takes on an aged appearance. A forehead lift can tighten this laxity and often results in a youthful appearance. Variations for forehead lift can be divided into endoscopic, mini, and coronal techniques. Endoscopic forehead lift utilizes the smallest incisions, although there may be 3 to 5 in total. Mini-incision browlift utilizes two incisions, one per side, measuring less than 2 inches. The coronal or open technique employees a single incision that goes across the scalp or hairline. The recommendation for a certain incision is based on the amount of loose skin. The greater the flabbiness, the longer the incisions required to remove the excess and tighten the laxity.
Eyebrow position and a natural arch.
Drooping eyebrows may obstruct your vision, lead to forehead wrinkling and cause a heavy feeling over the eyes. As the eyebrows drop, they also loose their natural arch and shape. This condition may be a first sign of facial aging. The forehead lift is a procedure used to restore the eyebrows into a more youthful position and recreate an appealing arch. The brows regularly drop more aggressively on the outside. A lift of the brows in a lateral direction is one way to reverse this change, and can be used with all forehead lift techniques. The restoration of the arch shape may be achieved by the manipulation of frown and orbicular muscles and through the angle of lift.
Forehead lift: A myriad of options.
There are many variations of the forehead lift. Regardless of which technique is used, the procedure should accomplish three basic goals, including a reduction in the number of wrinkles, the tightening of skin laxity, and the restoration of the eyebrows into a more youthful position. Patents may choose which technique appeals to them the most, based on their comfort with the location and length of incisions, the amount of downtime, and the desired goals of the surgery. In our experience, the top priority for most patients, when seeking forehead lift, is the length and type of incision used.
Wrinkle reduction in the forehead.
Correction of a wrinkled forehead usually leads to a more youthful appearance. Wrinkles on the forehead and frown increase in number as we age and from exposure to the elements. In the forehead, wrinkles tend to form as broad, flat lines across the forehead and/or vertical wrinkles on the frown. The lines and wrinkles are created, over time, as a result of repeated movements from the underlying muscles of expression. To reduce the wrinkles, browlift surgery, must tighten the skin and weaken the muscles of the forehead and frown. Direct forehead and glabellar muscle surgery through standard incisions usually prevents further wrinkles from forming and also assists in creating a positive lift of the eyebrows.
