And, for those that do not get enough there is plenty of college football and basketball to go around. Essentially, sports are visible in the city all year round. The Valley also boasts Women's National Basketball League's Phoenix Mercury and the twice-Arena Bowl world champion Arizona Rattlers. In January, the Tournament Players Club of Scottsdale holds the Phoenix Open PGA tournament. This annual golf tournament is attended by more spectators than any other PGA tour event, drawing the best golfers in the world. Furthermore, the Phoenix International Raceway welcomes thousands of fans for NASCAR and Indy races throughout the year. The Arizona Diamondbacks have been very successful, defeating, the New York Yankees in 2001, to give Arizona its first professional sports title. The Phoenix Suns, the Valley's oldest team continue to be a perennial contender. The team has been in the NBA playoffs every year since 1989 and twice to the NBA finals. With an exciting crew of players, it is just a matter of time until an NBA title is won. The Suns play at U.S. Airways Arena, located next to Bank One Ballpark, home to the Diamondbacks. The Glendale Arena also serves as home to the Phoenix Coyotes professional hockey club. The Coyotes moved to the Valley six years ago and became an instant hit. The NFL Arizona Cardinals relocated to Phoenix in the spring of 1988 and play in Cardinals Stadium in Glendale, AZ.
