A 48 year old woman from Cave Creek, Arizona who was looking for a plastic surgeon to perform major body contouring surgery after major weight loss. This patient had an open gastric bypass surgery in 2004 and had lost 150 pounds. She developed a hernia as a result of this surgery, but this had been repaired with mesh. Her bariatric surgeon repaired the hernia with mesh using the horizontal incision seen in the before photos. She developed a persistent fluid collection, a seroma, after the hernia repair and this can be seen in the before photos. She consulted for a lower body lift surgery, but I recommended a belt lipectomy. She had surgery performed at a local plastic surgery hospital. She stayed 3 nights and her photos are shown 1 year after the operation. The weight of the tissue removed was 12 pounds.
