Rhinoplasty surgery in Arizona is one of the most individualized procedures in plastic surgery - there is no one-size-fits-all approach. One particular example of this is ethnic rhinoplasty. What we mean by the term “ethnic” is essentially any patient not of Western/Caucasian background. Common examples of this include patients of Asian, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, or African American descent. The reason this is important to take note of is not just the anatomical differences, but the different cultural beauty standards across each ethnic background.

Ethnic Rhinoplasty Surgery Details

For example, for Asian patients, the nose profile or height of the nasal bridge is typically shorter. The length of the nasal tip when looking from the side is shorter as well with flared nostrils, thicker skin, and generally weaker cartilage. The approach to an Asian rhinoplasty is almost opposite to a Caucasian rhinoplasty. Rather than removing the nasal bump and creating a smaller nose that is common for Western noses, a common goal for Asian patients is to build up the nose - i.e augment the nasal bridge and add length to the nasal tip. Hispanic noses vary a lot, but many patients want a softer bridge and a more defined tip without looking like a different person.

Nostril Reduction in Scottsdale

Nostril reduction is commonly performed at Guerra Plastic Surgery Center as well. For African American patients, a common goal is primarily nostril reduction and tip refinement. For Middle Eastern noses, focus is directed towards more tip rotation and support and nasal bridge refinement. Again, these are only general guidelines and each patient will have their own specific goals in mind. It is important for rhinoplasty surgeons to maintain ethnic identity, and this is achieved by carefully executing the above techniques without overdoing anything and deviating from one’s facial harmony.

If you have already used your free consultation, a $100 non-refundable fee is required for a second consultation. This $100 fee may be applied toward your surgical quote if you proceed with surgery.

Non-Surgical Procedures
A $25 non-refundable appointment fee is required for all non-surgical procedures. Two (2) business days’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule to avoid this fee.
