If you’re considering rhinoplasty in Phoenix, it’s probably something you’ve thought about for quite some time. Our nose is something we’ve grown accustomed to for many years through pictures, looking in the mirror, and everyday life. The decision to pursue a procedure that alters one’s nose is certainly a significant undertaking.

That is why it is important you find a rhinoplasty surgeon who is not only an expert but also someone who listens to what you want.
START YOUR AESTHETIC JOURNEYOftentimes, there is a disconnect between what a patient is trying to achieve and how the plastic surgeon interprets it. The nose is a complex, 3D structure consisting of skin, cartilage, and bone.
This makes rhinoplasty terminology quite confusing, making clear communication during consultation especially important. I believe surgeons should spend all the necessary time available to understand a patient’s goals. For example, I like to draw during consultations as it demonstrates my thought process and helps educate patients. Bringing wish-pics and patients’ old photos are very helpful as well.
Cultural beauty standards also come into play, and my role as a rhinoplasty surgeon in Scottsdale is to understand those and create a balance between achieving what a patient wants and what I think can be realistically achieved.
For example, a popular “nose” features a swooping appearance of the bridge of the nose from the side-view that curves upwards, paired with a very narrow and defined tip. Although it may look good on some patients, it may not be the best option for others due to variations in face shape, skin thickness, and overall nose anatomy. Some patients may need less rotation of the tip of the nose, some may need more.
Some may need less projection or “length” of the nose, some more.

Another example is Asian rhinoplasty, where a taller nose bridge, a projecting nose, and narrowed nostrils are typically more sought after compared to more Western ideals.

With all of these factors in mind, it becomes clear that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to rhinoplasty, and different techniques should be employed for each patient.
I take time with my patients to really listen to what bothers them, what they want changed, and then present my recommendations on what I think can be safely achieved.
For a procedure that involves such a tiny cut on a small part of our body, rhinoplasty is a technically challenging procedure that is also extremely transformative if done right.
Absolutely happy with my results. Friendly, helpful, really awesome team. Recommend 100%!
My experience from the moment I called for a consultation through post-op was amazing. The entire team makes you feel extremely comfortable about the decision you made. I felt safe and in good hands.
