Our Breast Implant Exchange Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Aldo Guerra, will personalize the incision and implant placement based on your anatomy and the condition of your current implants. He may use the same incision site as your initial augmentation procedure, particularly if your previous implants were placed via an inframammary fold or areolar incision.
If you experience capsular contracture or have a ruptured implant, our doctors will remove the hardened scar tissue surrounding the implant before removing the implant itself. After which, he will carefully insert the replacement implant using a Funnel or no-touch technique.
Dr. Guerra in Arizona uses multiple layers of dissolving sutures to close incisions. He may also place a layer of gauze and a bandage over your newly enhanced breasts to promote faster healing.
